Before Treatment
- (Optional) TKTX numbing cream – Apply 1hr to 30 mins before your laser appointment to help aid the discomfort. (Read instructions before use & before to patch test product 48 hrs before your appointment)
The Healing Stage
- Aloe Vera gel – Apply Aloe Vera gel if the area is sore, hot or irritated to help aid itchy & warm skin. Apply a thin application no more then 3-5 times. Be sure to have clean hands.
Once Scabs have lifted
- Sun cream – (minimum SPF30) on exposed treated areas. Do not apply this if the area is open or weeping.
- Bio Oil – To help speed up the reduction of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Apply 3 times a day if not more and massage in to the skin to stimulate cell renewal.
- Avoid steam rooms, saunas, chlorine pools and intensive exercise for a minimum of one week or until scabs have lifted.
- Avoid soaking the area for long periods on time. Still shower and rise the area but be cautious.
- Do not pick or scratch the area. This can lead to scaring, dipping and infection.
- Keep the area aired and dry. Apply breathable dressings when working or when at risk of catching the area. Be sure to change the dressing regularly, with clean hands.
- Do not expose the area to direct sunlight including sunbeds until post inflammatory pigmentation marks have returned to normal skin tone. This can take 1-9 months. Not protecting the skin can cause discolouration and pigmentation.
- Always check for yellow discharge. This could be a sigh of infection. Do not leave it! Go straight to your G.P and they will prescribe a suitable antiseptic cream or antibiotics, depending on the severity of the infection.
- Severe blisters, very rare but be sure not to pop or squeeze any. If inflamed and causing discomfort or look infected then go straight to your G.P and they will prescribe the right medication.
- If your ever experience unusual side effects then contact me or your G.P.
- If your ever unsure about anything then always contact me straight away on 07428 595979.
- Eat a sugary snack before your appointment and stay hydrated throughout the day.
- Apply a numbing cream before your appointment to help with the discomfort. (optional)
- Take painkillers like paracetamol after your treatment to help with the discomfort. (Optional)
- Protecting your clothes and bed sheets. There is always a change of pin point bleeding and surface discharge on the day on your appointment and/or until scabs have formed. Be sure to where old clothes and old sheet or pop a old towel down on your bed.
- Put your Aloe Vera Gel in the fridge, this will give a cold but more smoothing application.
- Start to rub the aftercare creams in with pressure for 5 minutes each time you apply, this will help with the repair of your skin. (ONLY do this when there are no signs of scabbing) usually week 2-3+.
- Allow time for healing, book your appointments around your lifestyle. Sometimes healing can look unsightly and you might want to hide or cover scabs up for work or events coming up.
- Take your own before and after pictures for fun.
- Immediately after treatment: You might experience heat, pinpoint bleeding and swelling. (This is normal)
- Day two: Possibly open and weeping skin.
- Day Three: scabbing and possibly itchiness.
- Day Seven to fourteen: Scabs to be lifted and a small post inflammatory hyperpigmentation mark will be present. This will take 1-9 months to fade down to your usually skin tone.
- No skin lesion.
- Advanced Electrolysis is a treatment that uses a Thermolysis current (heat) and a very fine needle to either cauterise or lift away the superficial epidermis (skin), depending on the type of blemish that is being treated.
- You can book 15 mins appointments every 4 weeks. This allows the skin to fully heal before starting another area.
- Not all skin lesions can be removed. If I am unsure of any skin lesion I will require a doctors note or proof that the lesion has been examined and is safe to remove.
- Moles will always require a doctors note or proof that the mole has been examined and is safe to remove.
