Facials are suitable for most skin types and can be adapted to target concerns such as dryness, dehydration, congestion, breakouts, dullness, sensitivity and signs of ageing.
Your skin will be assessed before treatment so the products and techniques can be tailored to you.
A facial may need to be postponed if you have an active cold sore, skin infection, severe irritation, broken skin, sunburn or are feeling unwell.
Please let me know about any allergies, medication, recent treatments or changes to your skin before your appointment.
Your appointment begins with a consultation and skin mapping so we can discuss your current skincare routine, concerns and goals.
Your facial will then be personalised using professional Dermalogica products selected for what your skin needs on the day.
Depending on the facial booked and your skin, the treatment may include:
- Cleansing
- Skin analysis
- Exfoliation
- Steam where suitable
- Extractions where appropriate
- A personalised mask
- Hydrating and nourishing products
- Facial massage movements
- Finishing products and SPF
Please arrive with little or no makeup where possible, although your skin will be thoroughly cleansed during the treatment.
For a few days before your appointment, avoid:
- Strong exfoliating products
- Retinoids or retinol
- Picking or squeezing the skin
- Excessive sun exposure
- Waxing or other treatments that may irritate the area
Continue drinking plenty of water and let me know if your skin becomes irritated before your appointment.
For the remainder of the day, keep your skincare routine gentle and avoid touching your face unnecessarily.
For the next 24–48 hours, avoid:
- Strong active skincare ingredients
- Scrubs and exfoliation
- Excessive heat, steam rooms and saunas
- Intense exercise if your skin feels sensitive
- Direct sun exposure
- Picking or squeezing the skin
Apply SPF every day and follow any personalised skincare advice given during your appointment.
